UPDATE – due to the success of the first two weeks plantings the Wednesday plantings have now ended.
Planting of 18,000 native eco sourced trees will start this Saturday, 11th April, running every Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4 pm at Paremata Flat Reserve Cable Bay off Maori Pa Rd, rain or shine, until all the trees are planted. If you are able to help out on any of the above days it would be much appreciated, bring along as many family, friends work colleagues as you can!! If you know of any groups, work colleagues, social clubs etc that may be interested in being involved with the planting but the above days don’t work then contact contact Ian Price by phone (03) 5459018 or email direct to make other arrangements.
What to bring;
spade, solid footwear, don’t worry if you don’t have a spade as the group will be split into diggers and planters, so opportunities for all to help out.
Look forward to catching up with you all at some point over the planting period, if you have not been out for awhile or may have never visited Paremata Flat Reserve make the effort to come out and check out what has been achieved.
On May 2nd Council will be providing a BBQ, we hope to get good publicity and exposure as we are aiming to get around 6000 trees in the ground over the weekend.
